Rea Vaya has made internships available, helping students get real workplace experience, and boosting their skills and employability.
Bahle Mazibuko , one of the interns at Rea Vaya WHILE its core function may be transporting thousands of commuters to and from work, Rea Vaya has other responsibilities too. It is also helping students acquire working skills through its internship programme.
Rea Vaya will test and refine my skills, says Karabo Moloi Mazibuko, a 24-year-old marketing student at Unisa, says her experience at Rea Vaya so far has been rewarding. “The atmosphereis welcoming,” she adds. In the short time she has been at Rea Vaya, Mazibuko has developed a liking for events planning. “I hope to demonstrate my ability to work well with different types of people and skills in seeing projects through from start to finish.” Moloi, a 23-year-old student at Tshwane University of Technology majoring in public management, says that working at Rea Vaya will give her an opportunity to test and refine her skills. “I am learning about things I will never find in the classroom. Now I can strive for the knowledge I will need in tomorrow’s workforce,” she adds.
