Consider taking a Rea Vaya bus to the FNB Stadium for the Pick ’n Pay 5km charity walk on Saturday.
PARTICIPANTS in the Pick 'n Pay 5km walk at the FNB Stadium on Saturday 15 October can catch Rea Vaya buses to the venue.
The nearest station to the Soccer City precinct, Basotho Station, will be open for the event.
Buses will run from 6am to noon to Basotho Stadium, ensuring walkers will get to the venue on time.
Participants can catch any bus along the trunk route.
The Pick 'n Pay 5km walk, which starts at 7am and is scheduled to end at 11am, is aimed at raising funds to support free cancer screening and health advice in local communities. Funds will go to Pink Drive, an outreach programme run by Pick 'n Pay aimed at raising awareness about cancer.
Participants can also use buses to go back home, according to Nomalizo Xabana, Rea Vaya's senior marketing and public liaison officer.
More than 1 500 participants are expected to take part in the walk around the precinct.
Entry for the event closes on 14 October and last minute registration can be done at www.picknpay.co.za or forms hand delivered at the Pick 'n Pay store at Maponya Mall before 7 pm. Tickets are R30 for adults and R15 for under 18s. |
