| Soweto Highway to close for road works |

The Soweto Highway will close temporarily for road works from 9 August as Rea Vaya rolls forward to connect Joburgers.
SECTIONS of the Soweto Highway along Booysens Reserve will temporarily close from Tuesday, 9 August for Rea Vaya road works.
The eastbound carriageway will be closed from 6am until 11am daily, and the westbound carriageway from 11am to 3pm. The section between Mentz and League avenues will be closed.
Construction of the Rea Vaya section two road works are also affecting New Canada Road in Pennyville, between Buffalo and Springbok roads. Construction in this area started in June and only a single lane is in operation.
Other affected roads include Main Road in Noordgesig, between the Soweto Highway and Colin Drive.
Motorists are urged to abide by the speed limit during the construction, which will take about four months.
